Marly
About This Spot
Stepping into Marly feels like entering a quiet refuge amid the bustling energy of Seoul’s Seongdong-gu district. The pace here is gentle, inviting you to slow down and savor a moment away from the city’s rhythm. Spacious and thoughtfully arranged, the café offers a warm atmosphere where natural light softly filters through, setting the tone for relaxed conversation or peaceful solitude.
Marly’s two levels provide different vantage points—whether you prefer a cozy corner for people-watching or a sunlit spot to quietly enjoy a book, the mood gently encourages you to settle in as time takes on a softer quality. There’s an unhurried charm to the space, felt especially in the quiet hum of friendly chatter and the delicate clinking of plates and cups.
The menu here is more than just selections; it’s a curated companion to the experience. Light, refreshing cakes layered with fruit and cream, alongside carefully brewed milk teas and vibrant citrus infusions, complement the café’s air of calm and refreshment. Ordering feels less like a routine and more like choosing a little joy to accompany your moment—whether it’s a mellow Dutch latte that mirrors the café’s subtle elegance or a mille crepe layered with seasonal fruits that tastes like a gentle celebration of flavor and texture.
Finding a seat can be part of the ritual here, where the buzz of regulars and visitors alike speaks to Marly’s quiet popularity—a place beloved not just for its treats, but for the thoughtful balance of comfort and refined simplicity it offers. The subtle decor and the intimacy of space make it an ideal spot to linger through a lazy afternoon or seek refuge from the season’s heat, wrapped in gentle hospitality and an atmosphere that feels reliably welcoming without ever being intrusive.
For those who appreciate cafes where the human moments—small exchanges, easy smiles, the shared pleasure of a well-made cup or slice—build the heart of the experience, Marly quietly stands apart. It’s less about the rush and more about the unfolding, a place to encounter everyday delights with an ease that feels uniquely its own.

Came during a holiday and expected it to be closed, but it was open! You do need to find a seat first before ordering, but I feel like that’s a normal thing in most cafes here. The chocolate cake was perfect for me, not too sweet and fresh strawberries. Milk tea spanner was also quite nice! I saw a review saying the employees weren’t able to communicate in English, but to my surprise they did. I would like to let you know that the employees were foreign friendly and able to speak decent English.

Stumbled upon this pleasant cafe while hiding from the heat and humidity. I must say the vibes were awesome. Cakes were super refreshing, I chose the mille crepes which had about 4 types of fruits in it! Will definitely visit to try other cakes when I return to the country!

A great cafe in Seongsu. They have 2 levels. The toilet is secured with a code - need to get it from the cashier. Coffee and cake quality was very good. Great for people watching. Very atmospheric. Nice decor. Recommended. Thumbs up!
